Overview:

On July 6, 2023, SAL Electric President and CEO, Philip Chianetta provided the first of several sessions to Plainfield HS students on exploring building trades as a career path.  The session included a brief introduction to the building trade option, with a focus on the electrical trade, as an alternative to attending college or university.  Upcoming sessions will provide practical education as on-site project status updates are shown and explained to students.

Key Highlights:

– Introduction of Building Trades as a Career Path:Philip Chianetta from SAL Electric introduced careers in building trades  to the high school students, highlighting the electrical trade as a viable career option.

– Incremental Approach: Considering the age group of the students (15-18 years old), the information shared is designed to be digestible and not overwhelming. The project updates will be given in increments to facilitate better understanding and engagement.

–Construction Progress: The next session will showcase the construction progress, allowing the students to witness an active construction site and specific areas of wiring and lighting.

-Future Meetings: Further sessions will continue providing updates on the project, followed by a final meeting in October/November to present the finished product.
