Plainfield HS Update: 11/15/2023

Overview:

  • In the late summer and early autumn demo work was conducted in the auditorium, room 148, and room 200 to prepare for the new state-of-the-art performing arts center, Esports arena, and blackbox theatre, respectively.
  • In this time, project equipment arrived on site and was safely stored by the Plainfield Buildings and Grounds team.  As the teams readied for construction, the PureTek team was on site to check inventory to ensure materials were delivered properly without damage in shipping, and worked with the Sal Electric team to organize materials for the three spaces.
  • Review for some engineering challenges was conducted including:
    • The support of the high-performing line array speakers in the auditorium
    • Potential opening of the sound/lighting booth in the back of the theatre to augment sound and light clarity for console operators
    • Installing a half-wall for distribution of power and data in the Esports arena
  • After great support from Sean Sutton & the Plainfield Public Schools team, Sal Electric, and DMR Architects, the electrical permits have been received and construction work has initiated.
  • Construction work has begun at Plainfield High School including:
    • Creating the base layout for the pipe grid rigging in the Esports space
    • Installing the acoustic wall treatments by Niram Construction in the auditorium
    • Running the infrastructure required for power and data in Room 200
